CourseJournal publishes claims about price, curriculum, instructors, and what a course will do for you. This page sets out how we check those claims and how we handle it when we get one wrong.
What we verify before publishing
- Prices and discounts are checked against the course page at the time of writing, and the review states when it was last checked. List prices on course platforms change frequently, so we describe typical pricing rather than presenting one figure as permanent.
- Curriculum claims are taken from the course itself, not the marketing copy. If the sales page promises a topic the course does not meaningfully cover, we say so.
- Instructor credentials are checked against sources outside the course platform where they can be, and are described as claims where they cannot.
- Statistics and third-party facts are linked to their source. Where we cannot find a reliable source, we leave the claim out rather than repeating something we cannot stand behind.
What we will not do
- Present a coupon code or discount as verified when we have not confirmed it works.
- Publish invented statistics such as average savings or satisfaction figures.
- Describe a course as tested when nobody on the team has taken it.
- Let an instructor, platform, or advertiser change a factual conclusion.
Corrections
If you find an error, tell us. Include the article URL, the detail you believe is wrong, and a source if you have one. We look at every correction request.
When a confirmed error changes the meaning of a review, we correct it and note what changed and when. Minor fixes such as typos or a moved link are made without a note. We do not quietly delete reviews to make an error disappear.
Reporting a broken or expired offer
Coupon codes expire, sometimes within hours, and enrollment links change. If an offer on the site no longer works, let us know which page it was on and we will recheck and update it. Our review process explains how offers and reviews are kept current.
